A 5-day Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Lake Naivasha safari offers a perfect blend of wildlife, scenic landscapes, and unforgettable experiences. You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport between 7:00 and 7:30 AM and drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, stopping briefly at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos. You will arrive at your camp or lodge in time for lunch and a short rest. In the late afternoon, you will set out on your first game drive in a 4x4 vehicle, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras on the vast savannah plains. You will return before sunset for dinner and overnight at your camp.
You will wake up early for a 6:00 AM game drive when predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs are most active, then return to camp for breakfast. You may choose to book an optional hot air balloon safari at dawn (approximately $450-500 USD) or visit a Maasai village to learn about local culture. After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive focusing on the Mara River area to see hippos and crocodiles. You will return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the Great Rift Valley floor. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a game drive along the lake shore, where you can see thousands of flamingos, both black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, and buffalos. You will return to your lodge before sunset for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see hippos and fish eagles up close. You will then visit Crescent Island for a guided walking safari among giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes in a predator-free environment. You will return to your lakeside camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you have the option to visit Hell’s Gate National Park for a cycling safari among zebras and giraffes, or relax at the lodge. Hell’s Gate is one of the few parks in Kenya where you can cycle or walk safely. You will then drive back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch along the way. You will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport. The safari ends between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, marking the end of your memorable safari experience.
