Lake Nakuru National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as one of the world’s greatest bird spectacles – often hosting over a million pink flamingos. It is also one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos.
Early Morning (6:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel at 6:00 AM and drive 2.5-3.5 hours along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. Stop briefly at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos.
Morning (9:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park and begin your game drive along the lake shore. Search for the famous pink flamingos (numbers vary with water levels), pelicans, rhinos (black and white), Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, lions, and leopards.
Lunch (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)
Enjoy lunch at a safari lodge or tented camp within the park.
Afternoon (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
Continue game viewing in different sectors of the park, possibly visiting Baboon Cliff or Lion Hill for stunning views. Depart the park between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM and drive back to Nairobi, arriving between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM .
