A 6-day safari covering Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli is a classic and highly rewarding Kenyan itinerary. It’s carefully paced to give you a diverse experience—from spotting the Big Five in the Mara to witnessing flamingos in Nakuru and capturing elephants with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport between 7:00 and 7:30 AM and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, stopping briefly at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos. You will arrive in time for lunch and a short rest before heading out for a late afternoon game drive in a 4x4 vehicle. You will return before sunset for dinner and overnight stay at your camp or lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara
You will wake up early for a 6:00 AM game drive to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs before returning for breakfast. You may choose to book an optional hot air balloon safari or visit a Maasai village. After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive focusing on the Mara River to see hippos and crocodiles, followed by dinner and overnight at your camp.
Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, you will check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the Great Rift Valley floor. You will stop in Nakuru town for lunch before entering the park for an afternoon game drive along the lake shore to see thousands of flamingos and both black and white rhinos. You will then drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli
You will enjoy a final early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru before breakfast, then drive via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. The journey takes most of the day, and you will arrive at your camp or lodge in the late afternoon. You will have dinner and overnight in Amboseli.
Day 5: Full Day in Amboseli
You will wake up early for a sunrise game drive when Mount Kilimanjaro is most visible, offering stunning views of large elephant herds against the mountain backdrop. You will return for breakfast, rest during the midday heat, then head out for another afternoon game drive. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Amboseli to Nairobi
You will depart from Amboseli National Park and drive back to Nairobi, with a stop for lunch along the way. You will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport. The safari ends between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM , marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
