Hell’s Gate & Lake Naivasha – Active Adventure

1 Day Lake Naivasha Up to 12 people

Overview

Hell’s Gate National Park is one of only a few parks in Kenya where you can cycle or walk among wildlife. Combine it with a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see hippos and an optional walking safari on Crescent Island. This is the most active 1-day safari option.

Early Morning (6:00 AM – 8:30 AM)
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel at 6:00 AM and drive approximately 1.5-2 hours to the Great Rift Valley. Stop briefly at the Rift Valley viewpoint for photos.

Morning (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Arrive at Lake Naivasha and board a guided boat for a scenic safari. Observe hippos in the water, African fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants, and other bird species. Next, drive to Hell’s Gate National Park. Rent a bicycle (or take a game drive) and cycle among zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and gazelles. Walk through Hell’s Gate Gorge to see geothermal steam vents and hot springs. Visit Fischer’s Tower and the Central Tower.

Lunch (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)
Enjoy lunch at a lodge or restaurant near the park (own expense or optional inclusion).

Afternoon (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
